I can't get the ps3 controller to work with supertuxkart either, but I assume that gamepads aren't implemented for that yet. I downloaded sdljoytest from the mupen64plus website and when i run it with the controller plugged in it shows that the sony playstation controller is connected. Am I missing something simple? Is there like a 'switch' to make mupen64plus look for gamepads? It doesn't even appear that it tried to find anything besides the keyboard. I have read the mupen64plus wiki for game controllers, but it shows the autoconfig not find a file and defaulting to keyboard, mine doesn't do anything. It is supposed use the auto-config file to get the key mappings for the ps3 controller yes, i made sure it existed but it doesn't do that, it just starts the game with the keyboard as the controls. The controller does not work with Mupen64plus though. I would like to use my ps3 controller for the controls though.Īll that I have read off the Internet says that nothing needs to be installed on ubuntu or any linux for the controller to work. I can run the game just fine and the keyboard controls work fine.

Mupen64 is a free, open-source N64 emulator. Thankfully, you can try it before you buy it. There are some stability issues here and there. Each platform has its own set of features along with a set that works on all of them. Want to reload your gun in Rainbow 6? Turn on the map in Turok 2? Press the "L" button, which is the left analogue trigger, or L2 to some.Ī crude way to achieve this would be to stick a premade XInput Controller 1 Config.xcc into the Config folder, which raises another problem: how is PJ64 handling multiple controllers? I only have one 360 controller.ClassicBoy is one of the better multi-system emulators. This means that right shoulder is "R" and left shoulder is "Z", which is quite comfortable for most N64 scenarios. So I propose binding it to the left analogue trigger. The N64 L and R reflect the 360's left and right shoulder buttons. Here's my logic - basically everything on the 360 controller has a general enough equivalent except for the Z trigger. So I was wondering whether PJ64 should have some so that people can simply plug in their controllers and use the emulator. I notice that the Xinput setting doesn't have any default controls set.
